Fibromyalgia

Is a debilitating condition that is characterised by widespread pain and tenderness. Common symptoms include extreme fatigue, increased sensitivity to pain, muscle aches and spasms, weakness of limbs, sleep disturbances, and inability to concentrate. Natural medicine has a great approach to addressing the multitude of issues that can contribute to fibromyalgia. Herbal remedies can be effective to help with stress and sleep disturbances; Nutrition is vital to maintain energy, weight and nutritional status; and our CRP Pain Relief Program can alleviate that pain associated with Fibromyalgia.

Fluid Retention

Fluid Retention occurs when there is an accumulation of fluid in the body tissues. IT is a natural process for fluid to move from the blood stream into body tissues. The lymphatic system then collects fluid and empties it back into the bloodstream. Fluid Retention results when the fluid isn't removed from the tissues. This can be caused from not drinking enough water, or drinking the wrong type of fluid. Symptoms of fluid retention can include swelling of ankles and hands. Correcting our electrolyte balance, reducing alcohol, balanced exercise and rest and consuming the correct amount of fluid per day can help with the symptoms of fluid retention.

Gall Stones

Are hard small deposits forming in the gall-bladder, these deposits can be small like sand or larger like a lime. Symptoms can include: sharp stabbing pain in the upper right abdomen that can spread to the shoulder or the back, fever, nausea and vomiting, pale stool and yellowing of the whites of the eyes. Treatment is usually through surgery, medication or lithotripsy after diagnosis. Prevention can be promoted through correct nutrition and reduction of liver toxicity. We have helped to reduce the pain of gallstones using our CRP pain relief program.

Gout

This is a form of arthritis that arises when uric acid builds up in the bloodstream and causes joint inflammation particularly around the joints of big toe, ankle and knee. Symptoms often affect middle age men and females after menopause and are described as sudden onset of pain with throbbing sensation, with the joint being red, warm and tender. This can last for a few days and can return occasionally, possibly lasting longer each time. Gout is caused by eating too much red meat, refined foods, purine rich foods, alcohol, sugary foods, and caffeine. Using a nutritional approach to reduce acidity, promote alkalinity and reduce offending foods. Our CRP Pain Relief Program is successful at reducing the pain of gout.

Hypothyroidism

Low thyroid function is a condition where the thyroid does not produce enough thyroid hormone. The role of the thyroid is to control metabolism. Symptoms of low thyroid function or underactive thyroid can include sensitivity to the cold, depression, menstrual irregularities (eg PMT), constipation, weight gain, dry skin, and thin brittle nails. Blood test can be performed to show the functioning of the thyroid, however many women can still have the above symptoms with normal blood tests. '- this is called 'Sub-clinical hypothyroidism'. Nutrients, such as Selenium and Iodine are paramount to the production and activation of the thyroid hormones. Thyroid issues should be diagnosed and addressed early to prevent long term health consequences. By using natural therapies to balance the thyroid function you can promote long term wellness.

Infertility

Infertility is when a person cannot conceive or sustain a successful pregnancy. There are many causes to infertility. The definition of infertility is when a couple has not conceived for 12 months of unprotected intercourse. Infertility affects about 1 in 6 couples. Generally, infertility is thought of as being a female problem, but it can be from either the male or the female. There are many issues that can cause infertility and they include: thyroid disorders, diabetes, adrenal disorders, toxic influences such as heavy metal or organic solvents, cigarette smoking, alcohol use, drug use, nutritional insufficiency, endometriosis, poly-cystic ovarian syndrome, uterine fibroids, poor semen quality, sexually transmitted diseases, being overweight or underweight and chronic stress.

Correcting the nutritional insufficiencies and balancing the hormones are integral to Essential Fertility and Integrative Wellness. Using herbal remedies to help balance the hormones and promote correct ovulation is paramount to the fertility of a couple. Ensuring that the nutrition of the male is optimal will help the sperm be good quality and functional. http://www.mynaturopathgoldcoast.com.au/natural-fertility

Insomnia

Is a sleeping disorder where suffers either have difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep. This then affects the energy level and function during the waking hours. For many insomniacs they have difficulty closing their eyes and stopping the 'mind chatter'. Common causes of insomnia include: chronic stress, depression, anxiety, caffeine, pain, blood sugar irregularities, overeating, indigestion, liver toxicity, drug and medication use. Addressing the causes of insomnia is more effective long term than just taking tranquilizers or sleeping tablets. A herbal and nutritional approach can help address the causes of the insomnia and help to promote restful, regenerating sleep patterns.

Kidney Stones

These stones are solid masses of dissolved minerals, they can be in the kidney or in the ureter or both. Kidney stones form when urine is too concentrated with too much of these dissolved minerals. They combine together to form the crystal called a stone. Stones can be made up of different types of minerals and the type of mineral dictates the treatment regime.

Symptoms occur when the stone begins to move down the ureter (the tube that connects the kidney to the bladder). The stone can cause a blockage of the tube and cause swelling and pain. Sometimes the stones are small enough to be voided on their own but sometimes lithotripsy or surgery is required to remove the stones. Kidney stones are generally recurrent so once a person has them once, chances are that they will reoccur unless steps are taken to manage the causes.

Natural therapies can be undertaken to correct the causes of the kidney stones. Adequate hydration is essential and nutritional correction of issues that include excess sugar and carbonated drinks are required. If you have suffered from kidney stones before then it is advised to find out the causes of your type of kidney stone. Our CRP pain relief program can help to reduce the pain associated with kidney stones.

Liver Detoxification

The health and vitality of all of our body systems are dependent on the health of liver. It is a complex organ that influences many other systems of our body. The liver is essential for survival. We can last for days without food but only 24 hours without the function of our liver. The role of the liver is to filter out toxins from our blood stream, helps make some specific proteins, produces the biochemicals necessary for digestion (such as bile) as well as hormone production, glucose storage, metabolism of fats eg cholesterol, clotting factors, and storage of essential nutrients such as Vitamin A, D, B12 and iron. It also has an effect on the immune system and blood pressure.

When a liver becomes toxic or imbalanced it can cause symptoms of general fatigue, poor digestion, nausea, dizziness, liver spots, unexplained weight gain, poor sleep and liver spots. Specific nutrients are vital to the correct functioning of the liver and detoxification. A detoxification program that incorporates a herbal and nutritional approach can help the overall function of the liver, ensuring the optimal functioning and detoxification.
